Account deletion

Last updated: July 13, 2026

1. App and publisher

JoinSpot is an app operated by JoinSpot Inc. (Quebec, Canada). This page explains how to delete your JoinSpot account and the information associated with it.

2. How to delete your account

You can delete your account in two ways: In the app: open Settings, then Account, then Delete my account, and confirm. By email: write to privacy@joinspot.ca from the email address linked to your account, stating your deletion request. We may ask you to confirm your identity before processing the request.

3. Information that is deleted

Deleting your account erases the following information: - your account and login credentials; - your profile (first name, last name, username, email address, profile photo, bio and interests); - the events you created; - your event participations; - your messages; - your stories and the associated media (photos, videos); - your friends list; - your preferences and settings.

4. Information we retain and for how long

Some information is kept beyond account deletion where the law requires it. Transaction and billing records are retained to meet our legal accounting and tax obligations, for the period those obligations require. This information is then no longer used for any other purpose.

5. Deletion timing

Deletion takes effect after a 30-day grace period, during which you can reactivate your account by signing back in. After that period, your information is permanently deleted or anonymized, except for what we must keep for legal reasons (see the previous section).

6. Contact

For any question about deleting your account, write to privacy@joinspot.ca. To delete only part of your data without closing your account, see the data deletion page.
